For ATL Church Creatives

Don't create alone. Don't communicate alone, either.

The Church Communicator's Playbook is yours, free. Nine chapters of frameworks for everyone holding the church's story together, the person cutting the reel, shooting the photos, and writing the caption that goes under them.

Free means free. No account, no trial, no chapter held back.

Practical, encouraging, and written by someone who's actually lived it. Josh has created a resource that will equip and encourage church communicators for years to come.”

Why this page exists

A thank-you to the creative people serving Atlanta's congregations.

I've gotten to know El Maryland over the past few years through lunches, texts, and phone calls, and I'm a genuine fan of what he's built here in Atlanta.

ATL Church Creatives does something a lot of us spent years wishing someone would do for us: make sure the person behind the camera, the stream, the website, and the Sunday announcements isn't figuring it out alone, and that their work gets seen and supported as the kingdom work it is.

I wrote The Church Communicator's Playbook for church creatives and communicators like you. This page is simply a thank you, no catch. The playbook is free, in PDF and ePub. If the AI Skills Pack interests you, ACC gets a standing 20% off, always, no countdown clock.

I led church creative and communications for almost 16 years, first in Tallahassee, then here in Atlanta, writing, shooting, editing, and posting before I ever led a team doing it. I know the rooms you're working in and the weeks you're working through.

That work matters. The Church needs creatives like you.

The Free Playbook

Nine chapters. Four progressions. One clear path.

Written for whoever is actually doing this work: the solo creative wearing every hat, the media director leading a team, or the communicator who somehow ended up owning both the message and the equipment closet. The frameworks are the same. Only the scale changes.

1

Define the Work

Set your scope and name your role, so you stop owning everything while owning nothing.

2

Prioritize the Message

What gets amplified, what gets filtered, and how people actually hear what matters.

3

Build the System

Workflows and AI leverage that don't depend on you doing every piece yourself.

4

Lead the Culture

Lead up, across, and inward, without losing the calling that brought you here.

PDF and ePub, straight to your inbox. No drip campaign you didn't ask for.

Optional companion

AI as a tool, not a threat.

If you create for a living, you've probably felt the ground shift under you this year. That reaction is fair. It's also not the whole story.

AI can't replace you. But it can be a thought partner and force multiplier.

It can't stand behind the camera and see the shot nobody else in the room would notice. It can absolutely write the fourth version of a graphic's copy, or the email that has to go out an hour ago.

The church needs storytellers and communicators now more than ever, and there's never been a better moment to hand the repetitive part of the job to a tool, so more of your week goes to the part only you can do.

The Skills Pack won't design your series artwork, sit with a volunteer running on empty, or notice the story worth telling three rows back. That's yours, and it always will be. What it does is take the drafting, adapting, and reformatting off your plate, so you get to that work with something left in the tank.

Questions

The honest answers.

Is the book really free, or is this a funnel?

Really free. Add your email and the full ebook lands in your inbox in PDF and ePub. No account, no trial, nothing held back behind a paywall. You can read the whole thing and never buy anything.

Is this going to replace what I do as a creative?

No, and if a tool tried to, it wouldn't be worth using. The Skills Pack handles the repetitive writing and adapting around your work: captions, copy variations, formatting. It doesn't shoot, design, edit, or tell the story only you can see. Chapter 5 of the book goes deeper on where AI genuinely helps and where it has no business being anywhere near the work.

Do I have to be an “AI person” to use the Skills Pack?

No. No coding, no API keys, no clever prompting. It includes a setup guide and a “Loading Your Church's Voice” document that walks you through it. If you've ever set up a template in Canva, you can do this. Most people are running their first skill in about ten minutes.

How long is the ACC discount good for?

Indefinitely. There's no countdown on this page for a reason. Come back in three months when your fall series is finally off your desk and the price will be the same.

I freelance across a few churches. Does the license cover that?

The license covers one church or organization at a time. Many of the skills work well for freelance use too, you'll just want to swap in your own voice and wording where a skill assumes an in-house team. If you're regularly working across several churches and want to talk through what fits, email hello@churchcommplaybook.com.
