Privacy Policy

The Church Communicator's Playbook (churchcommplaybook.com) is operated by Josh King ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site, download the free ebook, or purchase the AI Skills Pack, and how that information is used. We've tried to write it in plain language, the same standard we'd hold any church announcement to.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Email address: when you request the free ebook, collected and stored by our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit), so we can deliver the book and send occasional related updates you've opted into.
- Purchase information: if you buy the AI Skills Pack, payment is handled entirely by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically: basic technical data (such as pages visited or general location) if and when we add an analytics tool. As of this policy's effective date, we do not run third-party advertising trackers or sell any collected data.
How we use your information
- To deliver the free ebook to your inbox and confirm your subscription (double opt-in).
- To send occasional emails related to the Playbook, the Skills Pack, or new guides, only if you've subscribed, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- To process and deliver your AI Skills Pack purchase, if applicable.
- To respond if you contact us directly.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Email delivery through Kit
Our email signup form and list management run on Kit. When you submit your email, it is stored on Kit's servers and subject to Kit's own privacy policy. Kit also sets a functional cookie to support the signup form itself.
The AI Skills Pack and your AI account
The Skills Pack is designed to run inside the AI tool you choose to use it with: Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), or Gemini (Google). When you use the Skills Pack, any content you write, prompts you enter, or outputs you generate are processed by that provider under its own privacy policy and terms, not ours — see Anthropic's, OpenAI's, or Google's privacy policy, whichever applies. We do not have access to, and do not store, anything you create or input while using the Skills Pack. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google.
Cookies
This site uses only minimal, functional cookies (primarily from Kit, to support the email signup form) and loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of that request. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, and purchase records for as long as reasonably necessary for accounting and support purposes. You can request deletion at any time (see below).
Your rights and choices
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us (see Contact, below).
- If you are located in the EU, UK, or a U.S. state with its own privacy law (such as California), you may have additional rights under those laws; contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults working in church communications roles. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
